A hole in the wall of the church indicate something. This can mean many things to many people. For some it could mean that there
was a break and enter in the church last night if they were not present when the hole was punched in the wall. Still others may think that some children were playing and accidentally knocked a brick over. Yet for those who were present when the hole was made, it will remain a story of the past lived and the future to looked forward to. As a past many would have dropped tears of sadness remembering how their little church had served them. As a future to look forward to, many would have been joyful, at least there is going to be improvement in the space for worship and prayer.

These were certainly part of the sentiments of the parishioners of St. Charles Lwanga Parish when they gathered to celebrate the last chapter of their old church to pave way for the new one to be erected.

The hole in the wall is a sign to us all. We are vulnerable as the brick wall. We can be broken to pieces or can rise to heights by building from the rubble and dust of the earth.

Brick is made from dust of the earth's crust. When it is mixed with water and heated, it becomes as solid as rock. In time, when it is exposed to weather and moister, it disintegrates into dust again. It is like the life we have. We were made from dust and to dust we shall return.

Life is fragile. We have to handle with it care or else it will waste to nothingness. When its wasted we, we cannot take it back unless we are aware of our source and nature.

Only with God can raise us up from the rubble and debris of our own making to the perfection of his own image. Without God, how bad can that hole in our soul become
